McHenry County Strength & Sports
Center wants to see your athletes succeed.
One of our main goals is to see the Fox Valley Conference become one of the most respected conferences in the state
for producing superior athletes. Because of this we would like to offer speed
and agility camps and sports specific camps on site for your athletes. Each
camp can be tailored to meet your needs as well as the needs of your athletes. Please
feel free to contact us about what we could do for you at info@mcssc.com or (815) 788-7330
Speed and Agility Camps-
Speed and agility camps will work on teaching your athletes a variety of techniques
including proper hip positioning, arm drive, and foot strike. Speed camps will
be tailored to your needs, but all will include:
Ø an introduction
on proper body mechanics
Ø fundamentals
of proper start speed and acceleration
Ø resistance
and over speed work
The agility component will consist of many different plyometric and agility
drills aimed at increasing overall body awareness and control. Because of the
nature of the camp, athletes from many different sports can all participate in the same camp.
Sport Specific Camps-
Sports specific camps will be tailored to your sport and the areas you the
coach feel are most important to cover. As a guideline most camps should include
some type of:
Ø Start
speed work
Ø Agility
drills
Ø Sport
Specific drills (ask about what is available for your sport)
Ø Talk
about proper weight training programs
Weight Lifting Clinics-
Dave Davis is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the
NSCA. He has spent many years working with athletes teaching and perfecting their
form in complex lifts such as the clean and the snatch. If interested, Dave is
available for teaching lifting clinics. These clinics could be held in house
or at your schools weight room. Again, this clinic would be tailored to your
wants and needs but areas that can be covered in a clinic would include:
Ø Teaching
progression of the Olympic lifts
Ø Powerlifting
techniques and programs
Ø How to
plan a year round lifting program
Ø Ways
to increase power output in lifting
Ø Basic
introduction to plyometrics
MCSSC would like to invite any coaches to come visit us and see how our program is run. We realize that you might
have concerns on what type of program your athletes are involved with, so we would like to put your worries at ease.
The sports specific program is meant to be an off-season or pre-preseason program. We do not want to interfere with
any planned practices or team lifting sessions. Our goal is only to make your athletes better conditioned when they
come to you at the start of your season. If you have any concerns at all please contact us at
info@mcssc.com or (815) 788-7330.
