McHenry
County Strength & Sports Center is owned and run by head
trainer and strength coach Dave Davis. Dave is a 1999 graduate of Woodstock High School and a member of the 1997
State Championship football team. Dave graduated from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse, where he
majored in Exercise and Sports Science with a concentration in Strength and Conditioning. He is a certified strength
and conditioning specialist through the NSCA. Dave has been working with athletes for the past seven years and
brings his passion of strength training and sports together in an effort to increase the success of local area athletes.
During his time spent at UW-La Crosse, Dave
worked with the Eagles' athletic teams teaching proper lifting techniques and power exercises. He also spent the previous
three years personal training the student body. In his own time, Dave has competed in and is the 2 time UW-L powerlifting
champion in the 165 pound weight class, with his personal bests of a 435 pound squat, 335 pound bench press, and a 525 pound
deadlift, topping out at a total of 1295 pounds.
Dave has also personal
trained locally for the last four years, bringing success and results to his clients while always striving to make programs
fun and challenging. He has worked successfully with many clients, from those searching for weight loss techniques to
those interested in gaining muscle mass and strength.
Recently, Dave was
a trainer at Mercy Acceleration in Janesville, WI. There he worked with local high school athletes training them in the Frappier Acceleration program.
Dave has now opened his own sports training facility, bringing with him successful methods used with his previous high school,
collegiate, and professional level athletes to enhance McHenry County area athletes.
